The Biggest Disciplining Error
Yossi took a plate from the kitchen, and ran with it down the hall, to the dining room. But he tripped, and dropped the plate, which broke all over the floor.
"Yossi!" cried his mother exasperatedly.
"I'm sorry, Mommy," said Yossi. "It was an accident."
"You should have been more careful!" his mother admonished him. "What in the world were you thinking, running down the hallway like that with a dish that could break?"
This disciplining tactic is absurd.
What does she want Yossi to do?
Evidently, she wants him to time travel back in the past, before he went and got the plate, and walk slowly with it.
Avi's father was not pleased when Avi came home from school with a failed Chumash test for him to sign.
"How could you get such a low grade?" Avi's father asked him.
"I didn't study enough," sighed Avi.
"Avi, what's the matter with you? Why didn't you set aside some time to study for the test? That's what you should have done, instead of playing with your legos all yesterday evening!"
This disciplining tactic is absurd.
What does he want Avi to do?
Evidently, he wants him to time travel into the past, to yesterday evening, and study for the test instead of playing with his legos.
This is the biggest mistake parents make, telling their children to time travel. Good grief! This is totally beyond me. I don't even know what to say about this.
But here are some normal scenarios:

"Next time you need to be more careful!" his mother admonished him. "You need to think; you have a dish that could break – so you shouldn't run with it, but walk."
Now Yossi has learned a lesson; he knows what to do differently next time.
